Introduction
Himalayan Infrastructure Fund Ltd. (the “Company“) is a Private Equity Company incorporated in Nepal as a public limited company.The company was incorporated in the year 2008 by Nepalese Financial Professionals with a view to provide investment in infrastructure and other related areas. It is a private equity fund with authorized capital of NRs. 5.00 Billion (USD 43 Million approx., USD 1 = NRs. 116). The final capital structure will consist of General Partners ( “Class A” shareholders) holding 10% of the shareholding and the Limited Partners ( “Class B” shareholders) holding 90% of the shareholding.
The Company was incorporated by forming a group of leading bankers in Nepal in its Class A shareholders. Its Chairman is Mr. P B Pande’ and he is joined by Mr. Maheshwor Prakash Shrestha (working as a full-time executive in the fund).
Objectives
The major objectives of the fund are- To promote/develop energy, tourism and other infrastructure projects.
- To be the nodal institution strategically positioned to enable infrastructure projects in Nepal.
